In this contribution we apply two dynamic optimisation techniques to optimal control policy of a binary distillation column. The methods studied here are Iterative Dynamic Programming (IDP) and Control Vector Parametrisation (CVP). The comparison of both methods shows that they are able to solve specified problems, but with different efficiency and computational time.
