In this contribution we study an application of a dynamic optimization method for an industrial multicomponent depropanizer model. In the first part, the model was investigated and suitable modification were proposed that improved robustness of the model and reduced the differential index to one. In the second part, selected changeover problems were studied. The results show possible significant improvement over the existing nonlinear control design.
