SI-ENGINE AIR/FUEL RATIO IDENTIFICATION AND CONTROLPOLÓNI, T.; ROHAĵ-ILKIV, B. Abstract This paper deals with the design of adaptive LQ control schemes suitable for regulation of a spark ignition (SI) - engine air-fuel ratio. Optimal feedback and feedforward control actions are computed based on empirical ARX models identified from the engine input/output measured data. The advantage of the proposed controllers is that no first principle models are required for control. Using a Simulink model of the SI - engine derived based on first principle approaches the applicability of the suggested control schemes for feedback and feedforward air-fuel ratio control is verified and tested by simulations.
