MODEL IDENTIFICATION FOR HEATING CONTROL SYSTEM IN SMALL BUILDINGSOGONOWSKI, Z.; OGONOWSKI, S. Abstract The paper presents the problems of model identification for design and simulation of heating control systems in small buildings. The main aim of the design is to optimize fuel consumption. The results of measurements obtained in three-months observations of a typical house while normal use are summarized in the paper. The models obtained from these real data are presented as well as their validation. Preliminary simulations are also described to show inefficiency of typical control systems used in practice. The paper presents specially designed measuring system which does not disturb normal use of the house. The system uses microprocessor based measurement units with wireless communication, one-wire bus of digital temperature sensors and digital input/output interface. All the units are remotely controlled by the central unit. This unit collects data and transfers them outside using serial ports or internet facility. Identification issues presented in the paper focus on solving of number of problems arising from the real-world experimentation namely: constantly influencing disturbances, multi-dimensionality, feedback control with nonlinear controller, non-linearity of the plant, continuous-time plant, synchronization of measurements, jumping plant parameters while structure changes.
