Dr. Radoslav Paulen particapted at the IFAC Symposium on Dynamics and Control of Process Systems, including Biosystems (DYCOPS) 2019 in Florianopolis, Brazil (April 23 to 26, 2019). Our institute was represented with four contributions.
On Friday, May 3, the IAM students: Tereza Ábelová, Diana Dzurková, Kristína Fedorová, Lenka Galčíková, Lívia Homolová, Samuel Hrstka, Matej Kintler, Roman Kohut, Alexy Morozov, Michal Slávik, Peter Sovik, and Rudolf Trautenberger presented the interested results of their interesting semester projects.
On May 1, the Dean of FCHPT appointed Prof. Michal Kvasnica as the new head of the Institute of Information Engineering, Automation, and Mathematics. Congratulations!
Examination times for Summer Semester 2018/2019 at DIEPC
Dr. Radoslav Paulen gave a seminar on "Effective recursive parallelotopic bounding for robust output-feedback control" on April 15, 2019 at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. The seminar was given on the occasion of Dr. Paulen's visit to the group Applied Mechanics and Energy Conversion Section, Department of Mechanical Engineering, KU Leuven, Belgium. A member of this group Dr. Ján Drgoňa is a PhD graduate from IAM. He currently works on the implementation of predictive control on smart buildings.
PhD-student Petra Artzova visited ShanghaiTech University for two weeks to cooperate on our bilateral research project. There was also organised a scientific seminar, where she presented her research project focused on "Moving-horizon Guaranteed Parameter Estimation".
We have organised Open Labs at IAM on March, 25-29.
On Friday, March 29, 2019, David Dillkötter (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany) gave a lecture on "Model-Based Feedforward Control of the Laser Metal Deposition Process".
On Friday, March 29, 2019, Ruth Mitze (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany) gave a lecture on "Algebraic Dynamic Programming for Constrained Linear-Quadratic Optimal Control Problems".
Martin Mojto and Radoslav Paulen participated at the Advanced Process Modelling Forum on March 26-27, 2019. The event was organized by Process Systems Enterprise, the developer of simulation and optimization tool gPROMS. Martin Mojto successfully presented a poster "Modelling and Analysis of Control Pairings of an Industrial Depropanizer Column", where he summarized the results of his work in cooperation with the company Slovnaft, a.s.
